London Broncos
London Broncos Scholarship & Academy Programme
London Broncos Rugby League runs a Scholarship Programme at Under 15 and Under 16, which involves 24 players per age group to compete against other Stobart Super League clubs in line with the summer playing season.
Player Development Centres (PDC) aim to prepare players for the next step on the player development pathway, however not all PDC players are assured of a scholarship place. Equally, London Broncos Rugby League is free to select players who demonstrate potential from outside the PDC programme, or even outside Rugby League.
London Broncos Rugby League run a Super League Academy programme at U18 level which is the next progression for a scholarship player, and above this an U20 squad who compete regularly against other Stobart Super League opposition. From here players may progress to full time playing contracts with the London Broncos Rugby League Super League squad, and ultimately England.
London Skolars, playing in Co-operative Championship 1, operate as a professional club and another alternative on the pathway to a professional Rugby League career. Whilst the club does not run either a Scholarship or Academy programme, they have a close relationship with London Broncos Rugby League and many players move between the two squads.
Hemel Stags have also been confirmed as a Co-operative Championship 1 club in 2013.
